Join us for a webinar on the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), the European Union’s reference program for doctoral education and postdoctoral training. Special attention will be given to the Postdoctoral Fellowships (MSCA-PF), a mobility scheme that targets researchers holding a PhD who wish to carry out their research activities abroad, acquire new skills, and develop their careers. PFs help researchers gain experience in other countries, disciplines, and non-academic sectors.
The webinar will take place on Thursday, March 14th, 2024 at 1:30 PM ET (10:30 AM PT, 8:30 PM EET/TRT). Convert to your local time zone here. The event will be held on Zoom in English, and attendance is free but registration is required.
The upcoming call for the Postdoctoral Fellowships opens on April 10th and closes on September 11th, 2024.

Hear from EURAXESS North America, along with Dr. Tuğba Arslan from TÜBİTAK, a Turkish National Contact Point (NCP) for MSCA, who will deliver remarks for researchers and institutions in North America and Europe alike. You will also hear a testimonial from Dr. Gokce Kor Bicakci, an MSCA alumna.
Biographies
Dr. Tuğba ARSLAN KANTARCIOĞLU got her BSc in International Relations Department at Middle East Technical University, in Ankara/Turkey (2006); her MSc in European Union Law and Institutions at University of Toulouse1, in Toulouse/France (2008); her PhD in European Union Law at Ankara University with a thesis topic on “The Changing Role of European Parliament: Lobbying at European Parliament” in Ankara/Turkey (2019).
She has been working at The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TUBITAK) since 2009 as People/Marie Skłodowska-Curie National Contact Point (NCP) and National Delegate/Expert. She has written her expertise thesis on “the scientific talent attraction policies in Türkiye.” She is also the administrative and financial contact point for the NCP projects (PeopleNetwork, PeopleNetwork+, Net4Mobility, Net4Mobility+, MSCANet projects).
She has been and currently is responsible for all kind of Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions NCP work at TUBITAK. She also took the responsibility of EURAXESS initiative as EURAXESS National Coordinator since 2016. She is native in Turkish and fluent in oral and written English and French.
Dr. Gokce Kor Bicakci is an accomplished environmental researcher and a Marie Curie Alumna. With a degree in Environmental Engineering and a doctorate in the field of Environmental Biotechnology, she is working on improving sustainable waste-to-energy processes. She's dedicated to minimizing waste and maximizing resource recovery while tackling the risks of emerging contaminants.
Dr. Kor Bicakci is a recipient of the prestigious "Horizon 2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie (Individual) Global Fellowship" funded by the European Commission. Her postdoc project, "RADIOFREPOLIS," conducted at the “University of British Columbia - School of Engineering” (Canada) and “Boğaziçi University - Institute of Environmental Sciences” (Türkiye), concluded in December 2023. She is currently teaching in the Department of Environmental Engineering at Marmara University (Türkiye) as a guest lecturer.
Dr. Kor Bicakci actively engages in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) outreach activities in the community. She recognizes the significance of early education in shaping the next generation of scientists and engineers and is passionate about encouraging young women to participate in STEAM programs.
