Speaker biography:
Anouk de Bast heads the Science Office at the Embassy of Switzerland to the United States since September 2019. She has been working for the last ten years in the field of diplomacy and international relations, holding different positions in Swiss embassies as well as in the federal government.

From 2012 to 2015, she worked at the Mission of Switzerland to the European Union in Brussels, where she started focusing on science and education policies. From 2015 to 2019, she joined the Division for International Relations of the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research, and Innovation (SERI), where she was in charge of developing and implementing strategies and programs to promote international collaboration with selected partner countries (South East Asia, Africa, Middle East, and Europe).
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Germanic literature and a Master’s degree in Multilingual Business Communication from the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium).
