397 early-career researchers won European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grants. Following the first call for proposals under the EU’s new research and innovation program, Horizon Europe, €619 million (approximaely USD$702m / CAD$877m) will be invested in excellent projects dreamed up by scientists and scholars.
