admire

The Advanced Materials Research Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme (ADMIRE) is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND Action, hosted by AMBER - the Science Foundation Ireland Centre for Advanced Materials and BioEngineering Research.

Over two calls for proposals, ADMIRE will offer 12 prestigious fellowships in the area of advanced materials to experienced researchers (post-doctoral or equivalent) relocating to Ireland. ADMIRE Fellowships are for experienced researchers from any country.

For the current call (Call 2), five Fellowships will be awarded.

The programme aims to support the next generation of research leaders in Europe in Advanced Materials Science, by facilitating high quality research while providing opportunities for fellows to develop skills and flexibility for an independent career in their field.

Fellows have can choose their supervisorhost institution and research topic, providing it aligns with the existing research priorities within AMBER, and the supervisor is an AMBER Investigator.

The AMBER Research themes are:

AMBER is a multi-institute centre, bringing together expert investigators based in universities and technical institutes across Ireland. AMBER's core mission is to generate world-class materials innovations and translate these into impact across Europe and the world.

AMBER brings together Ireland's leading researchers working across the disciplines of Bioengineering, Chemistry, Immunology, Medicine, Pharmacy, and Physics. AMBER supports partnerships between leading researchers and industry, driven by advanced materials. It is led by Trinity College Dublin, on behalf of its partner institutes.

Who?

An applicant may be of any nationality but must meet both the experienced researcher eligibility criterion and the transnational mobility criterion. Both the experienced researcher and the transnational mobility eligibility criteria must be met on or by the call deadline (01 May 2022).

An experienced researcher is one who, at the time of the call deadline, holds a PhD or has 4 years of full-time equivalent research experience.

Research experience is a period of activity in research proven by e.g. a work contract, a scholarship, a study certificate.

Full-time equivalent Research Experience is measured from the date when a researcher obtained the degree entitling them to embark on a doctorate (either in the country in which the degree was obtained or in the country in which the researcher is recruited), even if a doctorate was never started or envisaged.

To meet the transnational mobility rule, the applicants must not have lived, resided or carried out their primary activity in Ireland for more than 12 months of the 36 months up to the call deadline.
