
Horizon Europe is the EU’s key funding programme for research and innovation with a budget of €95.5 billion. It tackles climate change, helps to achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and boosts the EU’s competitiveness and growth.
Association to Horizon Europe is governed by the Horizon Europe Regulation 2021/695. Legal entities from associated countries can participate under equivalent conditions as legal entities from the EU Member States, unless specific limitations or conditions are laid down in the work programme and/or call/topic text.
The UK and Switzerland were associated with former EU funding programmes for research and innovation. However, their situation is still uncertain regarding Horizon Europe. For this reason, we advise researchers and institutions from LAC who are willing to partner with legal entities from these two countries, in the context of Horizon Europe calls, to read what is their current situation in terms of access to funding and how their national agencies are dealing with this situation:
