About

On the occasion of the visit of Professor Maria Leptin, President of the European Research Council (the premier European funding organisation for excellent frontier research), the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Delegation of the European Union to Singapore invite you to join a discussion over the role and importance of frontier research.
In a time and a world where competitiveness and productivity considerations are driving policy agendas and investments, the panelists will discuss how such considerations interconnect with the unpredictable nature of scientific progress. They will review the arguments what frontier research, pushing the boundaries of knowledge, has to offer to garner sustained commitments across government and society, and promote collective efforts.
