IN COLLABORATION WITH:

German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Regional Office Tokyo

The German Centre for Research and Innovation Tokyo (DWIH Tokyo)

Sciencescope, The French Students and Researchers Organization in Japan

The Association of Spanish Researchers in Japan (ACE Japon)

Association of Italian Researchers in Japan (AIRJ)

German JSPS Alumni Association (JSPS Club)

The European Research Days Japan 2022 (ERD) is the annual flagship event of EURAXESS Japan and its partners. It is designed as a platform for researchers, innovators, practitioners, and professionals from across Japan to showcase their latest research achievements, and explore collaboration and networking opportunities with other participants.

The 2022 edition features three days dedicated to pertinent questions and topics, including

  • how Europeans work in Japan and collaborate with Japanese researchers on various topics
  • how to become effective science communicators
  • how to change a career path - from academia to industry - to realise one’s potential

In addition to the above, the German JSPS Alumni Association (JSPS Club); Sciencescope, The French Students and Researchers Organization in Japan; The Association of Spanish Researchers in Japan (ACE Japon); and the Association of Italian Researchers in Japan (AIRJ) will share information about their operations.

Furthermore, attendees will hear about funding opportunities in several European countries, presented by their embassies or cultural institutes in Japan.

The DAAD Regional Office Tokyo will host the onsite part of the programme at the German Cultural Centre in Akasaka, Tokyo. The event coincides with an exhibition by the German photographer Herlinde Koelbl entitled “Fascination of Science” (17-23 October 2022) that is organized by the DWIH Tokyo (managed by DAAD) and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Natur- und Völkerkunde Ostasiens (OAG). The exhibition features portraits of some of the most renowned scientists and Nobel Prize winners from all around as the world, as well as of promising young researchers. The panel discussion on “Diversity in Science” is part of the exhibition programme and participants of the European Research Days are welcome to join (separate registration necessary).
