11 Early-Stage Researchers / PhD positions in the field of chemical biology and analytical chemistry as part of the European Training Network ‘Targeted Anti-Cancer Therapies’ are available. The positions will be for 36 months and will allow students to be trained in various scientific and non-scientific fields, thanks to an intersectoral collaboration between nine beneficiary institutions located in five different European countries.

TACT is an European Training Network (ETN) funded by the European Commission under the ‘Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme’ and the ‘Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions’ (project N° 859458) that aims at developing the next generations of treatments against cancer.
ETNs bring together academic and industrial institutions within a consortium, in order to work on a central theme of research. By recruiting and hosting PhD students, insitutions from the consortium will equip them with transferable, future career-enhancing skills to create the next generation of experts in Europe.
The TACT ETN results from the collaboration between six universities and three companies located in five different European countries – see below and here. With a 3.1 M€ funding, TACT ambitions to train 11 PhD students in the development of state-of-the-art targeted anti-cancer therapeutics via carefully designed research projects and participation to several network-wide meetings, offering a comprehensive training in various scientific and non-scientific areas.
Benefits
The successful candidates will receive a 36-month, full-time employment contract as per Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) regulations for early stage researchers. The monthly salary will be confirmed upon offer, paid in the currency of the host country, and with a correction factor applied to the host country. The approximate monthly salary before employer and statutory deductions is:
3 170 € (Germany);
3 780 € (France);
3 530 € (Netherlands),
3 960 € (Switzerland),
4 570 € (UK),
plus an additional mobility allowance of 600 € per month. Researchers with a family may also qualify for a family allowance of 500 € per month, depending on their situation at the time of recruitment.
ESRs will benefit from an unequalled scientific training in all domains related to the field of protein-drug conjugates via their main research projects and secondments at other institutions. In addition to their individual scientific projects, all ESRs will also benefit from five week-long network-wide meetings throughout their PhD, dedicated to intensive trainings in various scientific and non-scientific themes.
Eligibility criteria
There are strict eligibility requirements within Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Networks. At the time of appointment, applicants must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies) in the country for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before their appointment; AND shall also be in the first four years of their research careers at the time of appointment and have not been awarded a doctoral degree.
