Understanding Open Research
This session will provide a broad overview of the key elements of Open Research. While many researchers are familiar with Open Access publishing, Open Research includes a set of practices designed to open up the research process, ensuring greater transparency and trust in science. The workshop will start from the basics and then moving on to cover updates on key areas around sharing data, code, preprints, registered reports and open peer review. The webinar will also introduce the F1000 Research publishing platform and its open research policies. The presentation will be followed by the opportunity for questions and discussion.
Speaker:
Matthew Cannon is the Head of Open Research for Taylor & Francis Group. Matt has been working at Taylor and Francis for almost 15 years in variety of editorial roles, in both science and social science areas. In 2019 Matt moved to the Open Research team where he sets policies and practices to improve the reproducibility and transparency of research. Matt is a member of the Research Data Alliance and sits on the publisher advisory board of FAIRSharing.org and the Centre for Open Science.
