AU-EU INNOVATION FESTIVAL

Hosted by the European Union, the African Union and the Republic of South Africa, the first ever AU-EU Innovation Festival will take place on 15 June 2023 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in South Africa. This Festival will run as a large hybrid, whole-day event, which can be attended both in person- and online. The event will bring together innovators’ and entrepreneurs’ insights and perspectives on the AU-EU Innovation Agenda, and will feature pitching sessions and exhibitions of innovations from both Africa and Europe.

This Festival will occur only two days after the adoption of the AU-EU Innovation Agenda at the second AU-EU Research & Innovation (R&I) Ministerial Meeting (13 June, Addis Ababa) and will therefore kick-start the implementation phase of this Agenda and of its short-term actions (foreseen to run within the first three years from the adoption, therefore from June 2023 till June 2026).
