Offer description
The researcher will take part of the Media Management and Markets research group. The objective of this project is to investigate whether quality stands out as a determining factor in achieving a sustainable model of success for streaming audiovisual media companies, which is not based on indiscriminate catalog growth. Thus, the aim is to discover which indicators allow evaluating the quality of a catalog or audiovisual service, and whether they are related to creative, technical, artistic, commercial or economic factors, among others.
The questions that will be addressed are the following:
Q1: To what extent does quality stand out as a determining factor in achieving the sustainability of the business model of streaming platforms? What is the link between content quality and sustainability?
Q2: What indicators are present in a quality audiovisual service or product that allow sustainability to be achieved both from the perspective of streaming platforms and users? Can they be reflected in a business model of sustainable management and production?
The novelty of the project presented lies in the fact that quality is not analyzed only as a desirable purpose in itself, but rather it aims to verify that the quality of the content is the key to achieving the sustainability of the management and business model of the streaming platforms. Although these concepts have been widely addressed separately in research on the audiovisual entertainment media sector, there are few works that correlate the quality of the audiovisual product and sustainability.
