Context:
Yildiz Technical University is one of the seven public universities situated in İstanbul and the 3rd oldest university of Turkey with its history dating back to 1911. Our university has 11 faculties, 2 institutes, 25 research centers, the vocational school of higher education, the vocational school for national palaces and historical buildings, the vocational school for foreign languages operating under 380.000 sq-m indoor space and with 1.600+ academics and 30.000+ students.
YTU enjoys a well-connected international community with 400+ higher education institutions from 50+ countries all over the world, participating in 800+ international agreements offering exchange programs, academic activities, joint projects and such. 2000+ international students, graduate and undergraduate altogether, from 100+ countries make YTU classrooms and laboratories a breeding ground for innovation and creativity.
The Geomatic Engineering Department was established in 1949. It is the first established department in the field of Geomatic Engineering in Turkey. In addition to the undergraduate program, graduate education is given in two different programs which are Remote Sensing and GIS, Geomatic. Some of the main research areas of the Department are Remote Sensing, Geographical Information System, Image Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data Analytics, Unmanned Aerial/Surface Vehicles, LIDAR Technologies, Virtual Reality and Multi-Criteria Decision Support Systems.

● Shall be an expert in Python programming and deep learning
● Shall have experience in at least one of the following topics:
- Remote Sensing,
- GIS,
- 3D point cloud processing,
- Photogrammetry.

SUPERVISOR
Prof. Dr. Bülent Bayram is an experienced project and team manager together with his excellent technical skills. His main research areas are geomatics engineering, overhead photogrammetry, remote sensing, image processing, deep learning and LiDAR. Prof. Bayram is the Türkiye’s coordinator of the Poland-Türkiye bilateral ongoing project of SILVA NYMPHA (Sustainable Use and Smart Management of Forests), Technical coordinator of the ongoing ERANET MARTERA project (SMARTPOL- https://www.jpi-oceans.eu/en/smartpol) and researcher of the national research project of Sustainable Damage Detection and Monitoring System for Cultural Heritage using Artificial Intelligence.
Prof. Bayram was the Head of the Photogrammetry subdivision between 2019-2022, the Chairman of the Supreme Commission of the Department of Geomatics Engineering at YTU since 2014, a member of the Strategic Planning and Monitoring Board of the Faculty of Civil Engineering since 2011 and a member of Turkish Association of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing. He is also chair of the International Symposium of Applied Geoinformatics which first one has been organized in 2019-Istanbul/Turkey (http://isag2019.sempozyumu.net/), in 2021-Latvia/Riga (online) (https://isagsymposium.org/isag2021/), in 2022-Greece/Crete-Chania (https://isagsymposium.org/).
