Description
Our research group is dedicated to designing new templates for assembling rotaxanes, studying their reactivity, and exploring their use in materials and as catalysts.
Applicants should possess expertise in organic synthesis, and previous experience in Supramolecular Chemistry will be considered favorably. We also welcome candidates with backgrounds in inorganic and/or materials chemistry. You will be joining a vibrant and young team consisting of 2 Postdocs, 5 PhDs, and 2 MSc students.
Postdoctoral fellows play a crucial role in training PhD and MSc students and are actively involved in project development. Our projects encourage collaboration with other groups specializing in electrochemistry, photophysics, material sciences and computational chemistry.
Located within the Organic Synthetic Group at the University of Murcia, the appointed fellow will have access to a dedicated 2-meter fumehood, ample bench space, and separate office accommodations (E047-04).
Our fully equipped facilities include photoreactors, multimode & monomode microwave reactors, HPLC systems, benchtop carousel systems for parallel synthesis and optimization, electrosynthesis, and more. Additionally, comprehensive department facilities like NMR (300, 400 (x2), 600 MHz), mass spec, X-ray crystallography, UV-VIS, IR, CD, DSC, TGA, ITC, TEM, SEM, etc., are available through the ACTI (Investigation Support Service) at the University of Murcia.
Join us at Murcia and contribute to cutting-edge research in an environment that fosters growth and innovation. Stay tuned for our latest news and breakthroughs by following us on X (formerly Twitter) at @socumu_lab!
Please note that applicants must comply with the elegibilty criterias of the MSCA PF 2024 call have a PhD degree at the time of the deadline for applications; must have a maximum of 8 years experience in research and should comply with MSCA PF 2024 Mobility Rule), available in the “2.3.2. Recruited researchers” section, p.121/142 of the Work Programme MSCA 2023-2024).
Research Area: Chemistry (CHE)
Keywords: Rotaxanes, Supramolecular chemistry, synthesis, catalysis, stimuli-responsive materials.
Applications: Join our dynamic team! Submit a CV and a cover letter (max 2 pages) detailing your research background, interest in this role, and professional growth goals to ppberna@um.es, with 'Postdoctoral Position Application' as the subject.
Include contacts for two references. Applications are due by June 6th, 2024. Please be aware that we may not fill all openings, and the timeline for start dates is adjustable (fall 2024/early 2025).
