Description

Intelligent Data Analysis Laboratory (IDAL) is a research group made up of physicists, mathematicians, engineers and clinicians. Its research includes almost any aspect related to data analysis, from new theoretical learning algorithms and visualization techniques to a broad range of practical applications in fields such as Medicine, Industry or Marketing, to name a few. In terms of methods and techniques, the main focus is on Machine Learning (ML), with special emphasis in the last few years on recent approaches, like Natural Language Processing, Deep Learning, or Quantum Machine Learning, which is the topic associated with this expression of interest.

The University of Valencia is implementing since 2017 the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R),this seal recognizes the University’s ability to attract talent, create a favourable work conditions, encourage research and enhance the careers of researchers in Europe: https://www.uv.es/uvweb/research-service/en/uv-research/human-resources-strategy-researchers-1286005500771.html

We welcome and support applicants for post-doctoral positions within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships program (Call ID: H2020-MSCA-IF-2019). We have been doing research on Quantum Machine Learning in the last few years; as a group whose main expertise is in Machine Learning, we have been associating with partners with a complementary expertise (Quantum Physics, Quantum Computing, …) thus carrying out impact multidisciplinary research. Therefore, the profile we are looking for is that of candidates with a PhD on Quantum Information or Quantum Computing so that we can train them on Machine Learning techniques with the aim of becoming a reference group in Quantum Machine Learning. Our extensive network of research collaborators will guarantee additional training and resources, if needed.

Successful applicants will enjoy not only an ideal environment to do research and improve their skills to become a research leader but also a fantastic city to live, at the seaside, with a benign climate, excellent Mediterranean gastronomy, moderate prices of housing and food, a good public transportation system and ideal for walking and biking.

Documents to be submitted by the candidates: Short CV (1-2 pages) including the main publications, motivation letter, and 2-3 references (names and email addresses).
