Description

Dr. Amado Alarcón and Dr. Ana Beatriz Hernández are Associate Professors at the Department of Business Management, Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Reus, Spain). They are interested in receiving Expressions of Interest of potential candidates for the Marie Sklodowska – Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA – PF) 2022 call. Selected candidates will receive dedicated support from our research and project groups in order to elaborate a successful proposal.

Prof. Amado Alarcón is principal investigator (PI) of the research project “Literacies and Occupation in the Digital Era (ALODIGI)” funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation (Spain), and member of ASO (Social and Organizational Analysis) Research Group. Prof. Ana Beatriz Hernández is the coordinator of ASO (Social and Organizational Analysis) Research Group, and co-PI of ALODIGI.

The ASO research group develops social science analysis and research from a interdisciplinary perspective in two main fields. organizational phenomena and social issues. ASO has been recognized and funded as a consolidated research group in the last call for grants from the Generalitat de Catalunya (2017 SGR 00911). The research group is composed by several researchers from disciplines like Business Management, Sociology, Psychology, Economics, Marketing, Linguistic and Translation, mainly from URV but also including researchers and collaborators from other universities in Spain and worldwide. The group’s purpose is to strength the links and relationships among its members and develop its research lines focused on: strategies and organizational change, sociological and intercultural studies, organizational social identities and diversity management, ethics and sustainability, gender, experiential learning and new literacies.

This call is oriented towards the investigation of the effects that skills and competences in the digital age exert on employability in different occupations and social groups. To do so, the purpose is to build two new databases that allow us to analyse skills and competences of occupations, considering different educational levels, and different regions of Spain and OECD, and study their impact on key socioeconomical dimensions. The focus of these analyses will be on vulnerable groups in terms of employability, for reasons of origin (migrants), gender, and age (youth and elder).

For the Marie Curie PF call of 2022, we are looking for postdoc(s) with experience and knowledge in:

  • Skills and competences acquired in different educational levels and demanded in occupations
  • Databases management and analysis, such as the PIAAC-Adult Education Survey
  • Data analytical capabilities

We are looking for talented and innovative young scientists, strongly committed to high quality frontier research and able to add new insights to the existing URV core expertise. Only candidates with an outstanding record of research achievements and publications in top-quality journals will be considered.

URV as Hosting Institution located at Scientific Campus of Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona, Spain), has all the technical and scientific facilities for carry out this project. This is an on-site post and the researcher will attend physically to the campus on a regular basis.

Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) is well positioned both nationally and internationally due to the Excellence of its research and the commitment and internationally recognised staff. URV is made up of 12 Faculties and Schools, with 24 Departments, which welcome annually 11.400 undergraduate, 1.500 master and 1.200 PhD students (20% of them full time employees). In 2019, it was named World’s 78th Best Young University aged less than 50 years and 401-500 Best University in the World (by Times Higher Education World University Rankings), and 501-600 by Academic Ranking of world Universities. Being the within the top 10% universities in number and impact of its publications is a clear measure of the quality of the research we can offer to the future MSCA-PF fellows.

Testament to the quality of its research is the fact that URV is host for around 100 MSCA fellows, in different programmes (COFUND, ITN, IF), displaying a strong bond to the principles of the MSCA programme.
