Description

The Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowship, funded by the European Commission, offers an excellent opportunity to early career researchers for professional growth through training, international exposure and inter-sectoral mobility. The Institute of Sustainable Processes of the University of Valladolid (Spain) is looking to support outstanding Marie Curie post-doctoral candidates for this round of MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships 2024 with a focus on the Environmental Technology research.

RESEARCH AREAS:

RESEARCH PROJECT DESCRIPTION: 

Bioplastic valorization into high added value products in order to mitigate plastic pollution while generating bioenergy and chemical building blocks. The project will be based on innovative bioprocesses using extremophilic microorganisms and novel configurations of bioreactors.

The Institute of Sustainable Processes of the University of Valladolid (ISP-UVa) was created in 2018 with outstanding researchers from different research groups of the University of Valladolid: Environmental Technology, Chemical and Biochemical Process Technology, Analytical Chemistry, Process Control and Supervision, and Surfaces and Porous Materials. The institute research areas are: Clean Environment, Green Energy, Resource Recovery, and Clean, Optimal & Efficient Industry. The institute human resources include 141 members, including 33 permanent staff, 31 post-doctoral researchers, 52 pre-doctoral researchers and 25 research technicians. The laboratories of the institute are well equipped with modern facilities to develop research projects with success.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

- Academic qualification: The researcher must be in possession of a doctoral degree or have successfully defended their doctoral thesis before call deadline. The successful defence must be unconditional (no further requirements/corrections that need to be addressed) and take place before the call deadline.

- Nationality: Any.

- Mobility rule: The researcher cannot have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the beneficiary for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately prior to the call deadline.

- Research experience: Maximum 8 years from date of award of the (first) doctoral degree. Years of experience outside research and career breaks will not count towards the above maximum.
