Description

The research group Use of industrial, construction and/or demolition wastes for the manufacture of structural and non-structural concrete is interested in developing a project focused on the manufacture of ultra-high strength or high resistance concrete (UHPC), using different waste from the industry.

In previously conducted research was demonstrated that these slags transfer greater resistance to the concrete. By studying this type of materials we can obtain a concrete with practically the same substituting aggregates and cement in different proportions to obtain a concrete with the same characteristics but more ecological.

On the other hand, by adding a part of cork to the Ultra Highete Concrete, it is possible to obtain a thermally and acoustically insulating concrete, which in addition to obtaining a green concrete since waste is recycled, both thermal and acoustic benefits can be obtained by having insulating and resistant capacity at the same time. With this material, relatively small thicknesses can be used with great resistance.

This project wants to encompass both wastes in the concrete to obtain resistant and durable benefits in its useful life.

If you are interested in applying for MSCA-PF, please submit by email to mariadolores.rubio@uca.es (no later than 30th of July 2024) the following documents:

1. CV (including complete contact details and list of publications, projects, etc., and describing academic achievements and research expertise, focusing on those aspects relevant in the context of the project).

2. Motivation letter (including information concerning your research and career interests and goals, project idea aligned with our research lines and how the candidate will contribute with his/her expertise in the project, and your interests in this call).
