Summary: Within the framework of the project CoViS with the Nr. 070090 (POCI-01-02B7-FEDER-070090), Instituto de Telecomunicações - Polo de Aveiro intends to open and grant two (2) research positions for two (2) Research Grants (“Bolsa de Investigação de Mestre“). This work is supported by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER), through the Regional Operational Programme of Lisbon (POR LISBOA 2020) and the Competitiveness and Internationalization Operational Programme (COMPETE 2020) of the Portugal 2020 framework. |

Admission Requirements: Bachelor or MsC Degree in Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering or similar area. The scholarships referred to in this call may be used to carry out initial R&D activities by students enrolled in a professional higher technical course, in a degree, an integrated master's or a master's degree graduates and also who are enrolled in non-conferencing courses academic degrees integrated into the educational project of a higher education institution, developed in association or cooperation with one or more R&D units. The candidates holding a Master degree must be enrolled in a doctoral program. |

Work Objectives: Development of non-invasive biometric sensors to monitor temperature and heart and respiratory rate. |
|
Applicable Legislation: A fellowship will be celebrated according to the regulations defined by FCT, “Regulation of Instituto de Telecomunicações’ fellowships” and “Estatuto do Bolseiro de Investigação”, according to Law no. 40/2004, dated August 18 (Status of Scientific Research Fellow), in its actual redaction, and also by Fundação para Ciência e Tecnologia, I.P. Fellowship Regulation of Fundação para Ciência e Tecnologia. Place of work: The work will be developed at the premises of Instituto de Telecomunicações at University of Aveiro, under the supervision of Prof. Nuno Borges de Carvalho. |

Duration: 6 months, with the possibility of renewal. Start date: February 2021 or soon thereafter. |
|
Monthly salary: 805.98€ or 1074.64€ according to the table of grant amounts awarded directly by FCT for positions held in Portugal (www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores ). The payment will be made by bank transfer. |

Communication of the results: Results will be published at the Instituto de Telecomunicações, in Aveiro. The selected candidate will be notified by email. |
