Postdoctoral/Research Assignment “Development of modeling tools for exploitation of chamber results through implementation in 3-D atmospheric chemical transport models”
The Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences, Foundation of Research and Technology - Hellas, (FORTH/ICE-HT), is seeking applicants for one postdoctoral/research assignment in the context of the research project “EUROCHAMP-2020 Integration of European Simulation Chambers for Investigating Atmospheric Processes – Towards 2020 and beyond”, which is implemented under the EU-Horizon 2020 Research Framework Programme.
Job Description
To conduct research in the framework of the aforementioned project "EUROCHAMP-2020". The main objective of EUROCHAMP-2020 is to integrate the most advanced European Atmospheric Simulation Chambers into a world-class infrastructure for research and innovation in atmospheric science and related fields. The successful candidate will work closely with researchers performing smog chamber experiments to develop modeling tools for exploitation of the experimental data through the development of appropriate parameterizations and computational modules and their implementation in 3-D atmospheric chemical transport models.
Location: FORTH/ICE-HT, Patras, Greece
Duration: 12 months with the potential of renewal
Salary: 2.600 € per month
Envisaged starting date: 01/01/2018
Requirements and Qualifications
The candidate is required to hold a Diploma, MSc and PhD in Chemical Engineering. Moreover, the candidates must be fluent in both Greek and English, in order to meet working conditions. The evaluation of the candidacies will be based on the following criteria and qualifications:

Proven experience in: (i) atmospheric chemical transport modelling (ii) development of aerosol modules for chemical transport models | 40 | Duration of proven research experience in research groups and projects. Quality and number of related publications in refereed journals and conference proceedings. |

Selection Procedure
Applications that are received on time will be evaluated by a scientific committee using the criteria mentioned above. If necessary, certain candidates will be invited to a personal interview with the committee.
The outcome of the selection will be announced on the website of FORTH/ICE-HT as well as on the website of “DIAVGEIA”.
The selected candidate will be notified and asked to accept the position within three (3) working days and to present all relevant documents that should match the submitted ones.
