PhD Fellowship “Development of a Volatility Basis Set based on module for the description of the atmospheric aging of biomass burning”

 

 

The Institute of Chemical Engineering Sciences, Foundation of Research and Technology - Hellas, (FORTH/ICE-HT) is seeking applicants for postdoctoral/research assignment in the context of the research project “Pyrogenic Transformations Affecting Climate and Health (PyroTRACH)”, which is implemented under the H2020-EU.1.1. - EXCELLENT SCIENCE - European Research Council (ERC).

 

 

Job Description

To conduct research in the framework of the aforementioned project "PyroTRACH". The main objective of PyroTRACH is to quantify the evolution of biomass burning emissions in the atmosphere together with their impacts on human health and climate.

 

 

Location: FORTH/ICE-HT, Patras, Greece

Duration: 6 months, with the potential of renewal

Salary: 840 Euros per month

Envisaged starting date: 1/12/2019

 

 

Requirements and Qualifications

The candidate is required to hold a Diploma and MSc in Chemical Engineering. Moreover, the candidate must be fluent in both Greek and English, in order to meet working conditions.

The evaluation of the candidacies will be based on the following criteria and qualifications:

Proven modeling experience in: (i) atmospheric chemistry simulation, (ii) simulation of processes taking place in atmospheric simulation chambers

    Selection Procedure

    Applications that are received on time will be evaluated by a scientific committee using the criteria mentioned above. If necessary, certain candidates will be invited to a personal interview with the committee.

    The outcome of the selection will be announced on the website of FORTH/ICE-HT as well as on the website of “DIAVGEIA”.
