Summary: A research position for 1 (one) Research Grant ("Bolsa de Licenciado") is open at Instituto de Telecomunicações, in the scope of the project plugPON- POCI-01-0247-FEDER-047221. This work is supported by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER), through the Competitiveness and Internationalization Operational Programme (COMPETE 2020) of the Portugal 2020 framework. This grant includes the development, testing and documentation of a software solution for a Smart EVSE using Open Source Libraries and V2X technologies. The work will be included in a project aimed at developing the next generation of integrated optical interfaces.

Admission Requirements: The scholarships referred to in this call may be used to carry out initial R&D activities by students enrolled in a professional higher technical course, in a degree, an integrated master's or a master's degree graduates and also who are enrolled in non-conferencing courses academic degrees integrated into the educational project of a higher education institution, developed in association or cooperation with one or more R&D units.Required: good knowledge in optical communications, if possible with some evidenced academic (related subjects) or experience background. Optional but beneficial: Simulation skills in VPI and/or other physical layer simulation environment for optical communications.

Work Objectives: The aim of the work is to study the present requirements for the existing 10, 25 and 50Gb/s PON and access technologies.

Applicable Legislation: A fellowship will be celebrated according to the regulations defined by FCT, “Regulation of Instituto de Telecomunicações’ fellowships” and “Estatuto do Bolseiro de Investigação”, according to Law no. 40/2004, dated August 18 (Status of Scientific Research Fellow), in its actual redaction, and also by Fundação para Ciência e Tecnologia, I.P. Fellowship Regulation of Fundação para Ciência e Tecnologia. Place of work: The work will be developed at the premises of Instituto de Telecomunicações at the University of Aveiro, under the supervision of Prof. António Teixeira.

Duration: 6 months, with the possibility of renewal. Start date: February 2021 or soon thereafter.

Monthly salary: 805.98€ according to the table of grant amounts awarded directly by FCT for positions held in Portugal (www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores ). The payment will be made by bank transfer.
