Offer Description

We seek for outstanding and enthusiastic researchers with strong expertise in organic electronic materials and/or devices, and a proven record of high quality research and achievements, to be a part of interdisciplinary research team on development of organic electronic materials and devices and creating the multidisciplinary Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Organic Electronics. The successful candidates will work in the group of Prof. Igor Perepichka on the Horizon2020 European project „ExCEED” toward organic molecular and polymer semiconductors for OLEDs, OFETs, OPVs, electrochromics, and other applications.

Skills/Qualifications
  1. PhD degree in Chemistry, Physics or Engineering, or an equivalent level of professional qualification and experience are essential.
  2. Candidates should have confirmed research experience and strong background in studies of organic electronic materials and/or devices.
  3. Well versed with a range of physical methods of studies of organic semiconductors; hand-on skills of material characterizations and/or device fabrication.
  4. Well versed with methods of organic and physical chemistry.
  5. Strong publication records relevant to chemistry, materials science or organic electronics.
  6. Highly motivated researcher with strong interest to pursue research in experimental organic materials chemistry.
  7. Ability to resolve complex issues and make technical, and procedural decisions and judgments
  8. An ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  9. An ability to work under high pressure in a tight-time schedule.
  10. Good writing skills for scientific articles.
  11. Good interpersonal / communication skills and high level of English proficiency (both spoken and written).
  12. Adhere to high ethical standards
  13. Not employed by Silesian University of Technology in the last 4 years.
Specific Requirements
  1. Previous postdoctoral (post-PhD) research in other Universities or R&D experience in industry is a big plus.
  2. Skills in materials computational methods.
  3. Research grant writing skills.
  4. Industrial experience or collaboration with industry.
  5. International experience at universities abroad.
