Offer Description

Work plan:

Work to be developed in the scope of the project iRead4Skills - Intelligent Reading Improvement System for Fundamental and Transversal Skills Development(https://clunl.fcsh.unl.pt/en/projetos/projetos-curso/iread4skills/), related to the Work Package on Complexity Classification and Data.

 

Main tasks:

- Supporting data collection and analysis for the identification of needs related to reading,

- Data collection and treatment for the definition of reading complexity levels,

- Supporting the definition, distribution and collection of scripts with skills descriptors,

- Supporting the definition of focus groups and the analysis and validation of results,

 - Supporting the elaboration and dissemination of the final results of the task.

 

Grant duration:

The grants will have the duration of 6 months, with the possibility of renewal, starting in March 2023.

 

Application:

Applications must be sent by email to the secretariat of the Linguistics Research Centre of NOVA University Lisbon, to the email address sec.clunl@fcsh.unl.pt with the subject “BI-LIC-1 iRead4Skills”.

Applicants must send an application letter accompanied by the following documents:

i) Curriculum Vitae

ii) qualifications certificate, diploma and documents proving the titularity of the academic degrees or its respective recognition when obtained in foreign universities

iii) proof of valid enrolment in a Master course in the scientific areas defined in the admission conditions

iv) motivation letter including a brief presentation (1 page) of the Master dissertation topic

v) other supporting documents considered relevant

 

In the case of academic degrees obtained in foreign higher education institutions, it is necessary to present the recognition of the degrees obtained, in accordance with DL 66/2018, of 16 August, or, in the absence of recognition at the time of application, it is necessary to present a declaration under oath that this recognition will be completed before contracting the grant. It is mandatory to present the recognition by the time of contracting the grant.

Benefits

Monthly grant amount: €875,98, in accordance to FCT, I.P grant values table in Country (https://former.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores.phtml.pt).

This value is complemented with a monthly voluntary social insurance corresponding to the first level, in case the candidate opts for its attribution, as well as a personal accident insurance.

Eligibility criteria

In compliance with the provisions of article 6º of the FCT Research Grants Regulation (Reg. 950/2019):

- Research grant (master student):

a) be enrolled in a master's degree.

 

Academic degrees obtained in foreign countries need to be registered by a Portuguese institution, according to the Law n. 66/2018, August 16th , and Portaria n. 33/2019, January 25th. Selection process

Selection method: Curricular Evaluation (60%) and Interview (40%).

 

The Curriculum Evaluation of the candidates will be carried out according to the parameters listed below, taking into account the skills presented in the Curriculum Vitae and letter of motivation:

   i) training in the area,

   ii) research experience,

   iii) technical knowledge.

The following parameters will be valued:

   iv) research topic of the master's dissertation project,

   v) knowledge of intervention studies in education, and qualitative and quantitative data collection,

   vi) knowledge of research tools by questionnaire.

 

The Interview will assess the experience, knowledge and technical skills, as well as behavioural aspects evidenced by the candidate, namely those related to

   vii) capacity for written and oral expression,

   viii) command of Portuguese and English,

   ix) dynamism, proactivity and ability to work as a team,

   x) motivation for exercising the function.

Notification of results: The final results of the evaluation are communicated to the applicants via e-mail, to the e-mail address indicated in the application.

 

After the provisional list of evaluation results has been communicated, candidates have a period of 10 working days to comment, if they wish, in a prior hearing of interested parties, pursuant to Articles 121 et seq. of the Administrative Procedure Code. The final decision must be taken within a maximum period of 60 working days after the conclusion of the prior hearing of interested parties or the public consultation.

Complaints may be lodged against the final decision within 15 working days or appealed to the highest executive body of the financing entity within 30 working days, both after the respective notification.
