Organizing a research group, developing a research program, and conducting research on gravitational waves with experiments aimed at measuring gravitational waves, primarily as part of the upcoming Einstein Telescope project.

A candidate should have:
- habilitation degree or professor title in the discipline physical sciences, astronomy or related sciences
- experience and current activity in the field of gravitational wave observations, with particular emphasis on knowledge of LIGO or VIRGO experiments, both in terms of equipment/hardware and data analysis.
- ability to collaborate in large, international scientific infrastructure projects.
Additional advantage will be experience in leading research team, knowledge of gravitational wave physics in connection with elementary particle physics, astrophysics and astronomy.

The candidates’ applications are examined and reviewed by the Selection Committee. Based on the submitted applications, the Selection Committee prepares a list of the candidates admitted to the competition and pass it to the Institute Director. The Selection Committee determines the ranking. If need be, the Selection Committee may ask the candidates to give presentations or invite them to interviews. At the session of the Scientific Council the Selection Committee presents a report on its activity with the justification for the choice of the candidate as the winner of the competition.
Employment contract for a fixed period of up to 33 months with the possibility of extension for an indefinite period of time.
