JOB VACANCY: SENIOR COLLABORATOR (I-PI 11-23)

Number of vacancies: two.

Features of the job vacancy:

Job position: Senior collaborator.

Working hours: 37.5 hours a week in morning sessions.

 Remuneration: €2,480 gross/monthly (plus extra payments in accordance with current regulations).

Estimated duration of the contract: 12 months.

In any case, the duration of the contract will depend on the duration of the project and its budgetary availability

Purpose.

Collaborate in the research project: "Technological Development and preparation for the scientific exploitation of Athena X-IFU" performing the following functions:

- Development of the scientific simulator and advanced analysis tools for the instrument

X-IFU instrument on board the European Space Agency's Athena X-ray space telescope.

- Contribution to the ground segment software of the instrument. 

- Any other tasks related to this job position that may arise from the execution of the project.

Applicant’s profile. Preference will be given to:

Experiencia y formación relacionada con el objeto de la convocatoria y en:

• X-ray astrophysics
• Programming (Python, Astropy,)
• Mathematical methods
• Machine learning, Deep learning, Neural networks, etc.

Languages: good command of English.

Qualifications: PhD degree in Physics; Mathematics; Computer Engineering; Robotics; Telecommunications; Naval or Aeronautical Engineering; or any other programme with equivalent content.

Requirements for applicants.

Compliance with the requirements listed below must always refer to the date of expiry of the

deadline for the submission of applications and must be maintained until the date of entering

into the contract.

-  Hold or be in the process of obtaining a PhD degree.

- Hold or be in the process of obtaining an undergraduate degree in Physics; in Mathematics; Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Naval or Aeronautical Engineering; or these degrees plus an official Master's degree or an undergraduate degree in Robotics Engineering plus an official Master's degree.
