It is open the call for 2 positions for Research Fellowships in the area of Computer Engineering, INNO4HEALTH Project (Ref: POCI-01-0247-FEDER-069523, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), through the Competitiveness and Internationalization Operational Program - COMPETE 2020, where the following conditions apply:

Computer Engineering or similar

2.Admission Requirements

Minimum profile required: MSc degree in computer engineering, high level of computational programming skills, experience, and motivation for development of informatic applications, writing and speaking proficiency in English. Previous relevant work and scientific research experience in computational applications with focus on Artificial Intelligence methods.

Preferred profile: Previous work experience in the area of research projects.

3.Duration

Duration of the grant: 3 months duration, eventually to be renewed according to the applicable laws, the project execution and respective budget, starting expectingly in January 2023.

4.Workplan

The work plan involves the following tasks:

- design and implementation of methods, algorithms and applications for the Portuguese use case;

- Specification and Implementation of the Portuguese Pilot;

- Active participation in meetings with supervisors and research teams;

- Availability of all the source code of the software developed within the scope of the exchange and of user manuals for that software;

- Preparation of scientific articles and reports, including the final report of the fellowship;

- Activities related to communication and dissemination.

5.Legislation

The applicable laws are: Research Fellowship Statute, approved by Law no. 40/2004, of 18 August; Regulation of Research Grants of the Foundation for Science and Technology, approved by Regulation no. of ISEP, Decree-Law no. 66/2018, published in Diário da República no. 157/2018, Series I of 16 August, which approves the legal regime for the recognition of academic degrees and higher education diplomas awarded by foreign higher education institutions and Decree-Law No. 60/2018, of 3 August, which proceeds to simplify administrative procedures necessary for the pursuit of research and development activities, all in their current wording.

6.Supervision and Workplace

The candidates to be selected will be scientifically supervised by Goreti Marreiros.

The workplace is at the Research Group on Intelligent Engineering and Computing for Advanced Innovation and Development in the following address: Rua Dr. António Bernardino de Almeida, 431. 4200-072 Porto – Portugal.

7.Benefits

Monthly value of the grant: € €1 144,64, paid by bank transfer (according to the table of stipends of FCT:

http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores.phtml.en), supported through the PADs n.o C58042 e C58045.

8.Selection process and Jury

The selection method will consider the following components: Curriculum vitae evaluation (50%), Interview (20%) and Master grade (30%).

9.Applications

In the case that the academic degree has been granted by a foreigner university, the applicant must submit the certificate of degree recognition in Portugal, or proof of respective application. All the requirements in the Decreto-Lei n.º 66/2018, de 16 de Agosto must be accomplished until de contract signature date.

-         Certificate of being enrolled in a PhD degree program

If the qualification has been granted by a foreign higher education institution, it must comply with the provisions of Decree-Law No. 66/2018, of August 16, and any formalities established therein must be fulfilled by the time of hiring.

10.Deadline for applications

Application period: January 19th to February 1st, 2023.

11.Results communication

The candidates will be individually notified by email message on the final evaluation results.

12.CLAIM AND APPEAL PROCEDURES

If the result is unfavorable, candidates have a period of 10 working days, after the results communication, if they so wish, in the context of a prior hearing of interested parties, under the terms provided for in the Code of Administrative Procedure.

A hierarchical appeal may be filed against the final decision referred to in the previous numbers, to the President of ISEP, within 15 working days after the respective notification.

13.Additional comments

ISEP may opt to select the approved and non-selected candidates in the scope of the current call for contracting additional researchers for the same project, in case that the selected candidate does not accept the position.
