Offer Description

1 Research fellowship for a Master’s student to take part in the project Texts and voices lost and found. Recovering, reconstituting, and recreating musical fragments (c.1100-c.1600), PTDC/ART-PER/0902/2020.

 

Research Field: Musicology

 

Work plan:

The research fellow will assist the research team in the tasks of the project which will be assigned to him/her during the grant period and will contribute to their accomplishment; he/she will also actively participate in other activities of CESEM.

 

Work location:

The project will solely take place in Lisbon, Portugal, under the scientific supervision of Doctor João Pedro d’Alvarenga.

 

Duration and funding:

The research fellowship’s duration is 12 months and is non-renewable. The expected starting date is 1 March 2023.

The fellowship is financed by national funds through FCT/MCTES (PIDDAC).

 

The research fellowship corresponds to €875.98 monthly, according to the table of scholarships awarded directly by the FCT, I.P. in Portugal. Added to this amount is the voluntary social insurance corresponding to the first category, if the candidate so chooses, as well as a personal accident insurance.

 

Eligibility criteria:

Mandatory: Holder of a degree in Musicology or equivalent and enrolment in a Master course in Musicology or a post-graduate course in a similar field.

 

Preferential: 1) attendance in the field of specialisation of Historical Musicology or equivalent; 2) knowledge of 16th-century Iberian polyphonic repertories and their main sources.

 

Candidates must also meet the eligibility conditions provided in the Article 6º of the FCT I.P Regulation for Studentships and Fellowships (2019).

 

Important notice regarding the Eligibility criteria mentioned above:

•In the case of academic degrees awarded by foreign higher education institutions, and in order to guarantee the application of the principle of equal treatment to candidates who hold foreign and national academic degrees, it is mandatory to recognize these degrees and convert the respective final classification to the Portuguese rating scale. The recognition of foreign academic degrees and diplomas as well as the conversion of the final classification to the Portuguese classification scale can be required in any public higher education institution, or in the Directorate-General for Higher Education (DGES). We suggest that you consult the DGES portal through the following address: http://www.dges.gov.pt.

•The scholarship is always dependent on the presentation of proof of the required academic qualifications.

 

Application:

The applications will be open from December 22nd 2022 to January 6th 2023.

The candidate must send an application letter, including identification and contact details, accompanied by the following documents: (1) curriculum vitae in the ciênciavitae format; (2) certificate of qualifications with mention of the classifications achieved; and, optionally, (3) other documents that the candidate considers to be relevant.

Selection method:

The evaluation and ranking criteria of the candidates are the following:

a) Curricular evaluation, on a grading scale from 0 to 5 points, with weighting of the mandatory and preferencial requirements.

b) Interview (optional, carried out, if necessary, by decision of the jury, to all admitted candidates). If needed, candidates will be notified of the respective date by email.

If the interview takes place, the weighting will be 50% for the selection method (a) and 50% for the selection method (b).
