Offer Description
In the Centre of Industrial Electronics (CEI) at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), we are looking for a highly motivated and talented PhD student in the field of Edge-Cloud Orchestration for Reconfigurable Systems. The proposed PhD research project is focused on the following topics:
- Vertical and horizontal collaborative computation offloading
- Machine-Learning based modeling of Reconfigurable Systems
- Scheduling and resource management in the cloud-edge continuum
- Infrastructure for distribution of reconfigurable hardware accelerators.
The PhD candidate will be part of a highly international and enthusiastic team. This three-year position will be funded within the scope of MYRTUS project, financed by the European Commission. The 3-year PhD scholarship includes health insurance coverage and a gross salary of 25000 € in 12 monthly pays. Expenses for attending conferences, summer schools, and workshops will also be covered.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in Electrical / Electronics / Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or similar. Previous research activities in the fields of interest will be highly appreciated.
PREFERRED SKILLS: Excellent knowledge of Programming in C and Python; embedded software programming for microcontrollers and FPGA design (VHDL/Verilog); Machine Learning fundamentals; experience with distributed algorithms is also valuable. A high level of English is required. Spanish is optional.
