Offer Description
Grant call for the award of 1 Post-doctoral Research Fellowship (BIPD), under the European project SmartVitiNet - Smart and Sustainable Drone-assisted Viticulture Excellence Network.
This research fellowship is to support work on all tasks of the SmartVitiNet project which aims to develop a competence centre for precise viticulture. Within this project the fellow will:
- Processing and analysing data collected by Drones using Artificial Intelligence algorithms;
- Create the necessary conditions for the collection of sensor data through the use of drones in flight and with access to information from sensors in the soil of the vineyards and also in weather stations;
- Integration of IoT and Drone technologies that support information and support the winegrower's decision;
- Preparation of progress reports;
- Other activities, including possible field work.
The research grant has a duration of 3 months, renewable for equal periods until the end of the project.

Requirements

Research fellows must have a Doctoral degree in Information Science and Technology.
- Availability to start when required.
- Proven proficiency in English (spoken and written). It is essential to master both the Portuguese and English languages.
- Knowledge and experience of participation in studies or projects related to drones, AI, and sensors
- Strong analytical and synthetic skills.

Additional Information
Monthly stipend of 1741 €, net, plus work insurance.
Admission requirements:
- PhD holder - Doctoral degree in Information Science and Technology;
- Having obtained the doctoral degree in the three years preceding the submission of the application to this grant;
- Having obtained the doctoral degree in a host institution different from the one where the Grant will take place, i.e. not having obtained the doctorate from one of the programmes offered by the Business Research Unit of Iscte – University Institute of Lisbon.
