Offer Description
The objective of the project is the elaboration of 4D geological models
within the Orígens Geopark aiming to supply scientific material for the
natural open museum using the new methodologies of virtual and
augmented reality (VR/VA) on 4D geological reconstructions. The
candidate should be able to construct 3D geological models of selected
structures in the South‐Central Pyrenees and restore them in order to
recreate 4D palaeogeographical reconstructions.
The tasks assigned to the candidate will be the 4D reconstructions of the
South‐Central Pyrenees from the thrust front to the Nogueres Zone and
the adjacent sedimentary basins during the last 210 Million years. Detailed
reconstructions will be the Sant Corneli‐Bóixols anticline, the Montsec
thrust and the adjacent Ager basin, the Nogueres thrust sheet at Gerri de
la Sal (involving Hercynian and Pyrenean structures) and the Bóixols thrust
sheet around Collegats gorge.
The candidate will work with available Digital Elevation/Terrain Models
(DEM/DTM) of the area (ICGC), but also with detailed DEM/DTM of the
selected sites using high‐resolution photogrammetry and 3D scanning of
outcrops of selected outcrops.
