Applications are open for 1 (one) Research Studentship(s), within the framework of project “Dynamic Analysis for Territorial Approaches to Housing" – DataH /R&D CiTUA/IST-ID, reference 1801P.01504, financed by national funds through FCT/Investment “RE-C05-i08 - More Digital Science” from the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP
Workplan: The selected candidate will participate in the "Dynamic Analysis for Territorial Approaches to Housing" (DataH) project, which aims to enhance the public administration's capacity to address housing challenges by developing a territorial observation and monitoring system that consolidates and analyses currently scattered and uncoordinated data. Specifically, the candidate will contribute to the following tasks:
- Development of a dynamic and multi-criteria analysis model and its operationalisation;
- Territorialisation and exploratory analysis of data and clusters, creation and interpretation of maps and graphical representations;
- Team activities as planned, in collaboration with the involved partners;
- Dissemination and communication of the results obtained.
Duration: The scholarship will have a duration of 10 months, starting in April 2025, with no possibility of renewal.

- To have experience and advanced knowledge in Geographic Information Systems (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS);
- Proficiency in spoken and written Portuguese;
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Preferred requirements:
- To have knowledge and experience in processing, analysis, and visualisation of spatial data, including process automation tools, web mapping, or satellite image processing;
- To be familiar with the main public policies and relevant databases for their evaluation.
Additional Information
Monthly maintenance allowance: The scholarship amount is €1309.64, in accordance with the FCT, I.P. grant value table for scholarships awarded in Portugal (https://www.fct.pt/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tabela_valores_SMM_2025.pdf), or as per the value table in Annex I of the IST-ID Research Grant Regulations (https://ist-id.pt/concursos/bolsas/ ). The payment will be made via bank transfer.

Selection methods: The selection methods will be the following:
- Curriculum evaluation (CV and qualifications) – 85%
- Proficiency in English – 15%
- Optional interview in case of a tie between candidates.
Composition of the selection Jury: Dr Sílvia Jorge, Dr Aitor Varea Oro, and Dr João Lourenço Marques.
Announcement/ notification of the results: All candidates will be notified of the final evaluation result via email.
Deadlines and procedures for prior hearing, complaints, and appeals: After the communication of the provisional list of evaluation results, candidates will have a period of 10 working days to, if they wish, make a statement during the prior hearing of interested parties, in accordance with Articles 121 and following of the Administrative Procedure Code. The final decision will be made after reviewing the statements presented during the prior hearing. A complaint may be lodged from the final decision within 15 working days, or an appeal to the Executive Board of IST-ID within 30 working days, both counted from the respective notification.

Workplace: The work will be carried out at Instituto Superior Técnico - CITUA, under the scientific supervision of researchers Sílvia Jorge and Aitor Varea Oro.
