Offer Description
LIP opens a call for selection of fellows for one Research Student Fellowship (BI Master) for participation in the project ATLASDaTA (Collaboration in the ATLAS Experiment at CERN: Data Taking and Analysis), project approved in the framework of the Call for SR&TD Projects: Cooperation between Portugal and CERN, Ref. 2024.00227.CERN, supported by the measure RE-C06-i06.m02 – "Support the funding of International Partnerships in Science, Technology and Innovation” of the Recovery and Resilience Plan - PRR, within the scope of the agreement between the Recover Portugal Mission Structure and the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT, I.P.), as intermediary beneficiary.
Work plan:
This grant is intended to carry out scientific work within the scope of the ATLAS project. The work plan will focus on searches for violation of charge/parity symmetry in the couplings of the Higgs boson to the W boson. The grantee will have to perform statistical analysis of the data collected during the period 2015-2018 to determine the signal intensity as a function of angular observables and interpret them in terms of constraints on anomalous couplings at the HWW vertex. The grantee will also prepare the results for publication.
Legislation:
The fellowship contract will be established according to the Regulations for Research Grants of LIP and FCT and to the Status of Scientific Research Fellow (Law nº 40/2004 de 18 de Agosto, and its successive amendments).
