The competition is open to each candidate who meets the requirements set out in the Higher Education and Science Act of July 20th 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571) and the Statute of University of Wroclaw.

Application requirements

1. The candidate must possess at least a doctoral degree in the field of natural sciences.
2. Research achievements published in very good mathematical journals.
3. Activity in applying for grants will be highly assessed.
4. Fluency in English, at least B2 level.

Scope of responsibilities

1. ln the research area: conducting research, participating in academic meetings, preparing scientific publications, actively participating in scientific conferences, applying for grants.
2. ln the teaching area: conducting educational classes, supervising bachelor's and master's theses.
3. ln the organizational area: working within university collegial bodies, recruitment and examination committees, organizing and participating in university promotional events.

2. Curriculum vitae.
3. A copy of PhD and MSc diploma.
4. A statement that the University of Wrocław will be the candidate primary place of work in the case of winning the competition (download Workplace Statement). 
5. Declaration of the discipline in which the candidate will conduct research, and in the case of people conducting research in more than one discipline, the percentage of their involvement in each of these disciplines (download Declaration of scientific discipline).
6. Self-presentation clearly indicating the manner of meeting the indicated requirements by the candidate, referring separately to the criterion of scientific activity, the criterion of internationalization, the criterion of organizational activity and the criterion of didactic activity.
7. A list of publications from a period no longer than 10 years.
8. Electronic versions of the two most important publications which are considered to be representative of the candidate’s academic achievements.
9. Cover letter addressed to the Rector of the University of Wrocław.
10. A statement in connection with Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018 The Law on Higher Education and Science (download Declaration – Article 113).
11. List of names and e-mail addresses of persons to whom additional opinions about the candidate may be requested. Additional opinions of reviewers will be treated as confidential, i.e. available only to members of the Employment Commission.
12. At least two recommendation letters; from scholars with a post-doctoral degree or the professor title or, in the case of candidates from a country other than Poland, holding positions equivalent to a post-doctoral degree or the professor’s title, specializing in the field within the candidate area of interest or related thereto. The recommendation letters should be sent by e-mail directly to the Commission Vice-Chairman at the following e-mail address: Grzegorz.Karch@uwr.edu.pl, and not be seen by the candidate. The letters are overt only to the Commission members while the candidates abandon the right of access to these letters.
