Applications are open for 1 Research Studentship, within the framework of project PARADiSE – The plasma road to solar fuels in Associação do Instituto Superior Técnico para a Investigação e Desenvolvimento (IST-ID), 1801P.0119.1.01, financed by national funds through FCT/MCTES (PIDDAC
Workplan: This fellowship is aimed at developing modeling tools for the study of low-temperature plasmas, specifically focusing on the development of actinometry techniques to be integrated into the Lisbon Kinetics (LoKI) tool for the study of CF4 plasmas. The work will build upon and expand ongoing research dedicated to describing CO2 plasmas for the detection of oxygen atom concentrations.
Duration: The research fellowship will have the duration of 5 months and is expected to begin in March 2025. The grant contract can be renovated up to the maximum of 12 months, including the duration of the initial contract. When the academic degree or diploma is awarded during the term of the scholarship contract, the scholarship can be completed under the contractual terms established.
It is mandatory to formalize applications with the submission of the following documents: i) B1 Form – Fellowship application (https://ist-id.pt/concursos/bolsas/ ); ii) Curriculum Vitae; iii) academic degree certificate, where applicable; iv) proof of enrollment at a course that does not award an academic degree; v) motivation letter; vi) declaration on honour that the applicant does not exceed with this contract an accumulated period of two years in this type of studentship, continuously or with interruptions.

Additional Information
Monthly maintenance allowance: According to the values for Research Fellowships awarded by FCT in Portugal (https://www.fct.pt/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Tabela_valores_SMM_2025.pdf ), the amount of the monthly maintenance allowance is € 1309,64, being the payment method of the Fellow by wire transfer.

Selection methods: The selection methods will be the following: curriculum evaluation, motivation letter and interview, classified on a scale from 1 to 5, with the respective weights of 40%, 30% and 30%. Preferential factor: experience in modelling or laboratory work in plasmas.

Announcement/ notification of the results: The final evaluation results will be communicated to all applicants by email.
