We seek Early-Stage Researchers (referred to as fellows) with a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, including but not limited to: social sciences, public administration, health economics, health services research, political sciences, health policy and management, biostatistics, clinical epidemiology, medicine, information sciences, communication sciences, data science, artificial intelligence, planetary health, systems science, and environmental sciences.
Please refer to our website for all specific requirements and qualifications per open position.
Applicants need to fully respect three eligibility criteria
- Fellow definition: All researchers recruited in the Industrial Doctoral Network must be Early-Stage Researchers, i.e. not already in possession of a doctoral degree, nor already be involved in obtaining one at the date of the recruitment (unless you are willing to forego that position and start a new trajectory in HealthIntelAct).
- International mobility: Researchers must not have resided or carried out their main activities (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the recruiting host organization for more than 12 months in the three years preceding the recruitment date. Time spent on compulsory national service, short stays such as holidays, and time spent as part of a procedure for obtaining refugee status under the Geneva Convention are not taken into account.
- English language proficiency: Candidates must demonstrate that their ability to understand and express themselves in both written and spoken English is sufficiently high for them to derive the full benefit from the network training. Information about TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) can be found here.

Additional Information
Contract, benefits and salary
Each hired fellow will be based at the premises of the host institute where they applied and will pursue a PhD.
- Contract Duration: The standard duration contract for Fellows is three years. HealthIntelAct is a 48-month project starting on January 1st, 2025. In principle, fellow contracts will span three years; however, certain positions (as specified in the vacancy texts) may have longer durations.
- Salary and Benefits: The Marie Skłodowska-Curie (MSCA) program offers an attractive salary and working conditions. The successful candidate will receive a gross salary in accordance with the MSCA regulations. Exact salary will be confirmed upon appointment [Living Allowance (3400euro/month * a correction factor to be applied per country) + Monthly mobility allowance (600 euro)]. A family allowance of €660 per month will be paid should the fellows have family, regardless of whether the family will move with the fellows or not (also subject to taxes). In this context, family is defined as persons linked to the fellows by (i) marriage, or (ii) a relationship with equivalent status to a marriage recognized by the national or relevant regional legislation of the country where this relationship was formalized; or (iii) dependent children who are actually being maintained by the fellows.
The final amount will not change in case of secondments to another organization. Be aware the contracts include social security coverage providing at least sickness and parental benefits, invalidity and accidents at work and occupational diseases, covering the fellows in every place of implementation of HealthIntelAct activities. As these will be paid by the employer and depend on country-specific regulations, the final net salary that each fellow will receive may differ. In the case of secondments to other beneficiaries or partner organizations, the social security provision will also cover the fellows during these periods.
In addition to their individual scientific projects, all fellows will benefit from further continuing education, which includes internships and secondments, a variety of training modules as well as transferable skills courses and active participation in workshops and conferences.

The recruitment process comprises three stages:
- Application Submission: Candidates apply for a position using the online application form and submit a CV, preferably using the Europass template. The HealthIntelAct project manager conducts an initial screening of the applications to verify candidate eligibility and forwards eligible applications to the principal investigator (PI) and the Local Recruitment Committee (LRC). The LRC screens the applications further. The Recruitment Committee (RC) advises both the beneficiaries and applicants about other potentially suitable positions within HealthIntelAct, if applicable. This step is completed within one week.
- First round interviews: The LRC conducts online interviews with a preselected long-list of candidates.
- Final Interviews and Selection: Online interviews and presentations are conducted with short-listed candidates, and, if needed, a personal meeting is arranged with the final two candidates at the host institute. The LRC selects the fellow to be hired and communicates the decision to the RC. The RC ensures gender and diversity balance in the final selection of fellows in HealthIntelAct and suggests changes if the criteria are not met. Fellows are then appointed at the host institute under local employment contracts, fully compliant with all relevant national legislation (including adequate social security provisions).
The Recruitment Committee (RC) consists of the project coordinator, deputy project coordinator, the project advisor and project manager, in close interaction with work-package leaders (WPLs). The RC oversees all recruitment procedures, including: (i) defining advertisement criteria and fellow requirements; (ii) promoting and monitoring gender balance among recruited fellows; (iii) screening written applications and advising PIs and applicants; (iv) ensuring recruitment policy adherence across all host organizations.
HealthIntelAct and its affiliated organisations adhere to the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, aiming to achieve gender balance by hiring an equal number of male and female fellows.
Please refer to our website for all specific details of all the positions available in our network. Only applications via the HealthIntelAct website will be considered.
