SACSIS is selecting a competitive candidate for the Institute of Plant Biotechnology at the Technical University of Cartagena. The aim of the Project is to develop a set of CRISPR/Cas9 alleles in a set of genes involved in circadian clock function, scent control and late flower development. The person involved in the project will create the alleles and work on ongoing experiments. The  obtained lines will be tested for their function in a variety of traits such as growth speed, growth duration, flowering time, flower opening and scent emission. The experimental set up requires the use of a combination of techniques that include in vitro culture, molecular cloning and plant transformation, transcriptomic and metabolomics analysis and image analysis.
