The Department of Food Science and Technology, Institute of Food Technology is currently seeking a Postgraduate Research Associate.

Extent of employment: 30 hours per week 
Duration of employment: 1st of January 2025, limited to 31st of December 2028

Allocation in compliance with the Collective Agreement for University Staff to job group: B1

Gross monthly salary: (depending on previous eligible experience) at least: € 2.684,10
(payable 14 times per year) 

Responsibilities:

• Scientific collaboration in the research and teaching operations of the Food Technology Working Group
• Investigation of processes with a focus on structural modification of fruit and vegetable products through the use of electrical processes
• Development of process-product interactions taking into account process engineering principles as well as physico-chemical analysis methods
• Conducting internships in the field of food technology
• Co-supervision of topic-relevant bachelor's and master's theses
• Acquisition and processing of projects in cooperation with industry and research partners
• Scientific publication, writing of a dissertation is desirable

Required skills and qualifications:

• Diploma degree in Food Science and Technology or other equivalent university degree
• Excellent German and English language skills
• Communication skills and ability to work in a team

Desired skills and qualifications:

• Experience in non-thermal processing for disintegration and structure modification
• Initiative and independent, responsibile working style
• Didactic skills
