Offer Description
The Department of Food Science and Technology, Institute of Food Technology is currently seeking a Postgraduate Research Associate.
Extent of employment: 30 hours per week
Duration of employment: 1st of January 2025, limited to 31st of December 2028
Allocation in compliance with the Collective Agreement for University Staff to job group: B1
Gross monthly salary: (depending on previous eligible experience) at least: € 2.684,10
(payable 14 times per year)
Responsibilities:
- Scientific collaboration in the research and teaching operations of the Food Technology Working Group
- Investigation of processes with a focus on structural modification of fruit and vegetable products through the use of electrical processes
- Development of process-product interactions taking into account process engineering principles as well as physico-chemical analysis methods
- Conducting internships in the field of food technology
- Co-supervision of topic-relevant bachelor's and master's theses
- Acquisition and processing of projects in cooperation with industry and research partners
- Scientific publication, writing of a dissertation is desirable
Required skills and qualifications:
- Diploma degree in Food Science and Technology or other equivalent university degree
- Excellent German and English language skills
- Communication skills and ability to work in a team
Desired skills and qualifications:
- Experience in non-thermal processing for disintegration and structure modification
- Initiative and independent, responsibile working style
- Didactic skills
