The research activity is characterized by the development of simulations of Virgo's superattenuator suspension chain. The Urbino-Firenze research group started a few years ago to develop software for mechanical simulation based on the experience of “Octopus”, extending its functionality and ease of use so that it can be used by a wider audience with relatively short training. The software is developed in Python and utilizes the impedance matrix method, leveraging its full potential and high-level libraries. This activity will have repercussions both for future developments related to Virgo-Next and for commissioning activities in general, that will benefit from it.
