University of Banja Luka, Faculty of Political Sciences opens a call for 1 postdoctoral position, in the
framework of the RETLAMI-SEE project “Enhancing Capacities for Quality and Impactful Research on
Transformations, Labour and Migration in Southeast-Europe” (Grant Agreement number: 101158885),
financed by the European Union through Horizon Europe programme, in the following conditions:
Scientific area: Social sciences and humanities
Skills/Qualifications/Admission requirements: Completed PhD degree in social sciences and
humanities.

Skills/Qualifications/Admission requirements: Completed PhD degree in social sciences and
humanities.
The candidates must cumulatively meet the following requirements provided:
 should have a PhD degree at the time of the deadline for applications. Applicants who have
successfully defended their doctoral thesis but who have not yet formally been awarded the
doctoral degree will also be considered eligible to apply
 must have a maximum of eight years of experience in research, from the date of the award of
their PhD degree, years of experience outside research and career breaks will not count towards
the above maximum.

Specific Requirements

 A Ph.D. in social sciences and humanities.  
 Knowledge and preferable skills in qualitative research methods.
 Command of English.
 Knowledge of Serbian/Croatian/Bosnian is considered an advantage.
 Knowledge about the Southeast Europe region and specifically Bosnia and Herzegovina is
considered an advantage.
 Relevant and competitive scientific publications.

The place of employment is at the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Banja Luka – Department of Sociology. The University and Faculty offers excellent study and work facilities, among which a fully-equipped IT laboratory and library, all situated in a new building located in the beautiful University
Campus – a natural protected area with botanical garden. Faculty of Political Sciences – Department of Sociology aims to establish Research Group on Transformation, Labor and Migration working on high quality and impactful research with emphasis on establishment and maintaining good collaboration with other similar institutions and scholars internationally.

Eligibility criteria

Terms of employment
The average weekly working hours are 40 hours per week.
The position is a fixed-term position for a period of 31 months commencing 1 February 2025. 
Salary and other conditions of employment are set in accordance with the Labour Law of the Republic of Srpska and other relevant legal documents.
The monthly salary envisaged for postdoc position is 2300 EUR gross (fixed amount including all taxes and benefits).

The further process
After the expiry of the deadline for applications, the selection committee conducts an assessment of
