Offer Description

We invite applications for a postdoctoral position in experimental high energy particle physics to be employed as a research assistant professor in the Department of Particle Interactions and Detection Techniques in the project NCN Opus. The successful candidate will be part of the project team at AGH with (dr. hab. eng. Tomasz Bold) to work on a solution for charged particles tracking for data filtering at ATLAS experiment during HL-LHC phase. 
24-month contract starts on January 1st, 2025 with possibility of adjustment.

Eligibility criteria

REQUIREMENTS:

1) PhD in physical sciences or in Information Technology and Econometrics or in a related discipline,

2) experience in experiments high energy particle physics or nuclear physics,

3)   very good knowledge of  c++ programming language and basic understanding of concepts related to graphical computing on accelerators,

4)   knowledge of standard data analysis frameworks (ROOT, python numpy),

5)   knowledge of English at least at B-2 level,

6)   A doctoral degree obtained no earlier than 1 January 2018 outside the AGH University of Krakow or at the AGH provided that a continuous and documented 10-month foreign postdoctoral fellowship is completed,

7) scientific and organizational achievements and active participation in conferences and symposia.
