Offer Description

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Doctoral Candidates (DCs) for ONE position to pursue a PhD education as part of the European MSCA DN project “PROMOTE”.

The position is available for a 36-month period at 1.0 FTE and is funded through Horizon EuropeMSCA DN grant number 101169245.

About PROMOTE

PROMOTE programme stands for PRostate cancer OMics Oriented inTErvention and it is an EU-funded MSCA Doctoral Network under Grant Number  (101169245) , coordinated by Mosaiques Diagnostics (Germany).

PROMOTE represents a collaborative network with Partners from Greece, Austria, Portugal, Germany and Spain that brings together 13 leading centers from different disciplines, including 3 SMEs, 4 university hospitals and 2 research institutes.

The overarching goal of PROMOTE is to establish an interdisciplinary, intersectoral, and international doctoral training and research programme. Our aim is to foster a new generation of leaders dedicated to advancing personalized treatment in Prostate Cancer, emphasizing excellence in research and clinical practice.

PROMOTE aims to:

i) educate the doctoral candidates in emerging -omics and advanced computational  technologies

ii) deliver novel non-invasive tools (based on biomarker-, machine and deep learning models) to guide intervention, and

iii) introduce more efficient treatment options for advanced PCa (particularly metastatic) driven by molecular characterisation of the disease phenotypes.

The Doctoral Candidates will be hosted across the network, and in addition to conducting an original research study they will participate in a 36-month network-wide training program, public engagement activities and collaboration with network members through planned secondments in European intersectoral partner organisations. PROMOTE will provide enhanced career perspectives in academic and non-academic sectors.

Mosaiques diagnostics is coordinating PROMOTE MSCA-DN project programme.

Mosaiques diagnostics

Mosaiques diagnostics GmbH has started its activity in 2002 and by now is a worldwide leader in clinical proteomics, via the introduction and application of capillary electrophoresis coupled to mass spectrometry (CE-MS). CE-MS is applied for diagnosis, monitoring of disease progression, predicting of therapeutic response and assessment of drug efficacy, with one of the main areas of application in chronic diseases. The approach rests on >85,000 individual datasets /profiles, publications in >300 high-ranking scientific journals and a letter-of-support from the FDA. MOS has already commercialised multiple urine-based biomarker tests in Germany for early and accurate diagnosis in oncology e.g., prostate, bladder, cholangiocarcinoma and also other chronic diseases e.g., kidney, liver and cardiovascular diseases.

Currently, MOS is developing solutions to improve on patient management including diagnosis and treatment through:

a) introduction of non-invasive, multi-marker panels for early disease diagnosis and monitoring of disease progression,

b) identification of novel targets for therapeutic intervention,

c) guidance of the therapy-decision making using predictive markers and

d) assessment of the efficacy of new drugs in pre-clinical models.

Within PROMOTE, we offer one 3-year PhD position.
