Offer Description
The scientific objectives include: To synthesize chalcogenide ((Cu,Ag)2(Zn,Cd)(Sn,Ge)(S,Se)4) and chalco-halide ((Sb,Bi)(S,Se)(Br,I) compounds via an innovative molecular inks route using green solvents; 2) To develop a high-pressure annealing process for the adaptation of the bandgap and optoelectronic properties of chalcogenides and chalco-halides for IPV applications; 3) To optically and electrically optimize chalcogenide and chalco-halide devices structure via selective contacts engineering.
The expected results of the Thesis includes: 1) To develop new customized absorbers and PV devices with adjusted bandgap for indoor lighting considering different illumination sources. 2) To demonstrate a durable IPV device (1cm2 cell and 25 cm2 minimodule) on rigid (glass) substrate with PCE(i) of 25% and 15% for cell and minimodule, respectively, tested according to IEC TS 62607-7-2:2023. 95% performance retention after stress tests. 3) To verify the devices in real applications by integrating IPV mini-modules (5x5 cm2) as IoT sensors power sources.
The DC will acquire a broad range of knowledge of the state of the art in related fields, such as thin film chalcogenides, thin film solar cells, indoor photovoltaics, chemical synthesis routes.
The DC will also be involved in dissemination through social media promotion of the network, such as project webpages, LinkedIn groups, YouTube video channels and blogging.
