Offer Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD student to join our research team at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan Campus. The successful candidate will work on an innovative project that focuses on microbial heterogeneity and its impact on disease development, utilizing advanced molecular and microbiological techniques.

Requirements:

  • A Master’s degree or equivalent in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or a related field
  • Expertise in anaerobic culturing techniques
  • Experience with RNA and DNA extraction, qPCR, and sequencing library preparation
  • Strong background in microbiology and molecular biology
  • Familiarity with microbial heterogeneity and its relevance to health and disease
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative research team
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Funding:

This position comes with full funding for four years, covering both tuition and a competitive stipend.

Location:

The successful candidate will be based at the UBC Okanagan Campus, in a vibrant research environment with access to state-of-the-art laboratory facilities.
