In addition to the general recruitment requirements from Article 39, paragraphs 4 and 6 of the Law on Scientific Activity and Higher Education, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• A Master degree in natural sciences, technical sciences, biotechnical sciences, biomedical sciences and public health
• An overall average grade at the previous levels of study (undergraduate and graduate, i.e. integrated study) which ensures enrollment to doctoral the doctoral program
• Wet lab experience with methods applicable in molecular biology and genomics
• Active knowledge of the English language, both written and spoken.

An advantage will be given to candidates with practical knowledge of at least one programming language (R, Python, Java, C/C++) and databases and bioinformatics, with a special emphasis on genomics, statistical data analysis, and data visualization methods.

In addition to the application form document, applicant needs to provide: Curriculum Vitae (CV), Diploma, Supplement (undergraduate and graduate, i.e. integrated studies) confirming which exams were passed and which grades obtained, e-mail address of at least one referee, and other evidence needed for satisfying position related selection criteria.

Selected candidates who have achieved their higher qualifications outside Croatia will be required, before the signing of the employment contract, to obtain the Ruling on the Recognition of Foreign Higher Educational Qualifications issued by the Agency for Science and Higher Education.

With an applicant for the position of Doctoral Student (Assistant position) who has already been employed in the position of Doctoral Student (Assistant position) in the Republic of Croatia, the employment can be contracted only on the remaining time of up to five years.

Assistant is required to enrol in postgraduate university studies (doctoral studies).

The employment includes a six-month trial period.
