Offer Description
The Vienna Lung Transplant Research Lab is recruiting for a research position. The level of appointment will depend on the track record of academic achievement including experience in the field, publications, and University and/or public service. Senior appointees will be expected to provide considerable independence in planning and execution of research.
The search is for a Mouse Microsurgeon to join the Vienna Lung Transplant Research Lab. A position is immediately available for an experienced microsurgeon capable of performing advanced surgical techniques including vascular anastomoses for organ transplant surgeries in mice (lung, heart, kidney, liver).
Qualifications:
• Junior researcher must possess a master’s degree or a baccalaureate degree with 3 or more years of research experience.
• Junior researcher must possess a master’s degree (or equivalent degree) or five to ten years of experience in the relevant specialization.
• Advanced surgical training and at least 2 years of experience with advanced surgical techniques in mice.
• Experience with modern molecular techniques including flow cytometry and microscopy.
• Evidence of a capability to plan, execute, and interpret experiments.
• Knowledge and experience with the innate and adaptive immune systems is highly desirable.
Researcher will be expected to engage in specialized research, professional activities and do not have teaching responsibilities. Researcher is expected to use their professional expertise to make scientific and scholarly contributions. Screening of applicants will begin immediately and will continue as needed throughout the recruitment period. Salary and rank will be commensurate with the applicants experience and training.
