Offer Description
Post-doctoral position available within the SUPPORT project (funded by EDCTP3): action ‘Supporting the next generation of African researchers on preventing HIV pediatric mortality through a training network’, a highly multidisciplinary, international and competitive training program in pediatrics research.
RESEARCH PROJECT: POSTDOC IN DATA MANAGEMENT FOR SUPPORT NETWORK
The purpose of this postdoctoral training is to develop computational and quantitative approaches and tools needed by the SUPPORT network to work with biomedical Big Data in the biomedical sciences. The SUPPORT data manager postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for assuring the overall quality of study data and data management deliverables within the scope of the study including overseeing Case Report Forms (CRF) completion, adherence to data standard operating procedures, and creation and management of data management specific timelines.

Requirements

•Hold a PhD in a relevant field (preferably in Biomedicine, Statistics, Data Science, Epidemiology, or related field)
•Proficiency in R programming language: ability to write, debug, and optimize R scripts. Experience in developing custom R functions
•Expertise in using and managing REDCAP (designing and implementing data collection instruments) for data collection and management
•Experience in handling, curating, and analyzing Electronic Health Records
•Experience working in interdisciplinary research teams
•Proficiency in English (oral and written) is mandatory (an interview in English will be conducted during the recruitment process)
•Willingness to work for at least two years in a Sub-Saharan African country after the end of the post-doctoral contract
•Be a citizen or resident of a Sub-Saharan African country

Additional Information
•A 24-month full time post-doctoral contract to undertake at University of Zambia (Lusaka, Zambia)
•A competitive gross salary according to the Marie Sklodowska-Curie training network tables taking into account family status and mobility (gross salary including employer’s social contribution and without family allowance: 3,799.84€/Month)
