Offer Description
The aim of this project is to verify by using strictly designed diets how phosphorus-containing food additives affect the gut and metabolic health of the body.
Description of the position:
The main aim of this project is to verify, by using strictly designed diets, how the most frequently used phosphorus-containing food additives affect the gut and metabolic health of the body. The realization of this project will help in determining what is the role of these food additives in health and disease and in verifying safe dietary levels and hazards resulting from their regular consumption. The planned research will also help explain the mechanisms by which the tested additives affect the gut and metabolic health of the body.
The candidate will participate in the following research tasks:
1. Assistance in planning and conducting feeding experiments on laboratory rats as a research model
2. Assistance in collecting biological material for analysis.
3. Analysis of the obtained biological material using various techniques, including those related to molecular biology, immunology and microbiology.
4. Collection, analysis and interpretation of the obtained results.
5. Popularization of the obtained results by participating in: writing scientific articles, scientific conferences, popular science activities.
6. Preparation and defense of a doctoral thesis.

- A master’s degree in a field related to food and nutrition, biology and medical biology, biotechnology, pharmacy or other related fields (expected before the deadline of this application);
- High motivation to work in a multidisciplinary team dealing with nutritional and biomedical research;
- Basic knowledge of physiology and biochemistry;
- Fluent knowledge of English (spoken and written);
- Ability to share knowledge in written and oral form;
- Availability, good work organization, ability to work in a team and to cope with stress;
- Additional advantages: knowledge in the field of food and nutrition sciences, scientific activity during higher education and experience in the analysis of biological material.
