Offer Description
The Department of Chemistry, Institute of Biochemistry is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate.
Extent of employment: 40 hours per week
Duration of employment: 1st of October 2024, limited to 30th of September 2030
Workplace: 1190 Vienna
Gross monthly salary and pay grade in terms of collective agreement for university staff (payable 14 times per year): B1 lit. b, € 4.752,30
Responsibilities:
- Research in biochemistry with a focus on glycobiochemistry or glycomicrobiology
- Method development in glycobiochemistry or glycomicrobiology
- Acquisition of national and international research projects
- Transfer of knowledge
- Teaching (lectures and practicals) in German and English
- Supervision or co-supervision of BSc, MSc or PhD theses
- Involvement in the modularisation of curricula; Involvement in university committees and adminstration
Required skills and qualifications:
- Doctorate degree/PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular biology or related life sciences
- Fluency in written and spoken German and English
- Sound postdoctoral experience
- Experience and publication track-record in glycobiochemistry
- Experience in teaching relevant lectures or practicals
- Enthusiasm for excellent teaching
Desired skills and qualifications:
- Teaching and research experience at universities or research institutions
- Willingness to pursue scientific co-operations within and outwith the university
- Experience in glycoprotein engineering and/or glycoenzymology and/or glycoimmunology
