Congenital heart defects are birth defects affecting a baby's heart structure and blood flow. These defects vary in severity, some needing no treatment and others requiring multiple surgeries. Diagnosis and treatment planning for these needs frequent monitoring using hi fidelity imaging systems. However, these imaging systems are 1) too costly for most hospitals in the Global South and 2), often, have radiation levels associated. The aim of this project is to develop AI algorithms that can develop coronary images or CAD models from EKG data. EKGs are easy to operate and inexpensive. In this work, you would work in close collaboration with a consortium of reputed engineers and scientists from Europe and Africa.
