Offer Description
Objectives: The use of biosourced precursors for the elaboration of structured carbonaceous composite materials with high electric conductivity and tuneable open micro/nano porosity; the use of natural wood slices and of fluid biobased polymers compatible with LDM as carbon precursors for the elaboration of structured GDL; 3D-printing of macroporous structures on the surface of wood slices and their subsequent carbonization in order to generate bulk carbon sheets with hierarchical porosity. The PhD will gain knowledge in: (1) the use of biosourced materials for the elaboration of composites, (2) characterisation of materials, and (3) the manufacturing of structured GDLs and 3D printed electrodes. |
The doctoral student will be employed at Grenoble Institute of Technology (Grenoble, France), where will spend 18 months, and will spend other 18 months at Polytechnic University of Torino (Torino, Italy), including two months in the research institute Liten CEA (Grenoble, France). After accomplished education the doctoral student will acquire a double PhD degree from INP GRENOBLE and from PoliTO.
The project Unite!Energy, is funded by the DN-Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) call of the European Commission and is offering 12 fellowships starting in 2025 academic year. Each scholarship includes periods at two of the participating universities, and a secondment to an institution or company, to study the technology in a practical environment. For specific information about each position please write to: unite.energy@upc.edu.
Supervision: the doctoral student will be supervised by Prof. Naceur Belgacem (INP GRENOBLE) and Prof. Roberta Bongiovanni (PoliTO).
